Dr. Alex Planes is not your typical dentist. His journey into dentistry began at the remarkable age of 12, when he started working as a dental technician — hand-crafting restorations and developing an intimate understanding of dental artistry that most practitioners never acquire. That early foundation of craftsmanship and precision has defined every aspect of his career.
Dr. Planes earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana, one of Latin America's most prestigious dental schools, before completing an advanced residency at Columbia University in New York City — one of the foremost academic medical centers in the world. This combination of international perspective and Ivy League training gives Dr. Planes a uniquely broad foundation in the science and art of dentistry.
Deeply committed to patient comfort, Dr. Planes pursued additional certification in conscious sedation at Augusta University, ensuring that even the most anxious patients can receive the care they need in a completely relaxed state. His dedication to implantology led him to achieve Mastership status through the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) — one of the highest recognitions in the field of dental implants.
Dr. Planes founded Lifestream Dental & Wellness with a singular vision: to create a practice where every patient feels genuinely valued, where cutting-edge dental technology meets the warmth of a luxury spa, and where both dental and whole-body wellness are addressed under one roof.
