Dentures

Custom-crafted, natural-looking dentures that restore your smile and your quality of life.

Full & Partial Dentures

A Beautiful, Functional Smile — Restored

Losing teeth affects far more than your appearance. It impacts how you eat, how you speak, your facial structure, and your confidence. At Lifestream Dental & Wellness, we create custom dentures that restore all of those things — with a focus on natural aesthetics and lasting comfort.

Dr. Alex Planes combines his background as a master dental technician with his advanced clinical training to craft dentures that look, feel, and function as close to natural teeth as possible. Every set we create is custom-designed for your unique anatomy, bite, and smile goals.

Types of Dentures We Offer

Full (Complete) Dentures are used when all teeth in the upper or lower arch are missing. They rest on the gum tissue and are held in place by natural suction and, if desired, denture adhesive. Modern complete dentures are far more lifelike than the dentures of previous generations.

Partial Dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. They attach to your existing teeth via clasps or precision attachments and fill the gaps left by missing teeth. Partial dentures prevent remaining teeth from shifting and restore chewing function and aesthetics.

Implant-Supported Dentures are anchored to dental implants placed in the jawbone, providing superior stability, comfort, and bone preservation. Unlike traditional dentures, implant-supported options do not slip or require adhesives, and they help prevent the bone loss that occurs with missing teeth.

What Makes Lifestream Dentures Different

The Denture Process

Getting dentures at Lifestream begins with a thorough evaluation of your oral health, remaining teeth, and jawbone structure. We take precise impressions and measurements, and work closely with our dental laboratory to fabricate your dentures. Try-in appointments allow us to verify fit and aesthetics before final delivery. We also provide guidance on care, cleaning, and any necessary adjustment visits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to adjust to dentures?
Most patients adjust to new dentures within 4 to 8 weeks. During this time, you may notice increased saliva production, minor sore spots, and some difficulty speaking or chewing. These issues resolve as your mouth adapts. We schedule follow-up adjustment appointments to ensure a comfortable fit throughout the process.
Can I eat normally with dentures?
Yes, though there is an adjustment period. We recommend starting with soft foods cut into small pieces, then gradually reintroducing firmer foods as you become comfortable. Most patients can eat the majority of their favorite foods with well-fitting dentures. Implant-supported dentures offer even greater chewing force and stability.
How do I care for my dentures?
Dentures should be removed and rinsed after eating, brushed daily with a soft-bristled denture brush and mild soap (not regular toothpaste), and soaked overnight in a denture-cleaning solution. Always handle them over a towel or sink of water to prevent breakage if dropped. Continue to clean your gums, tongue, and any remaining teeth with a soft brush.
How long do dentures last?
Well-maintained dentures typically last 5 to 10 years before requiring replacement. As your jawbone and gum tissue naturally change shape over time, dentures may need to be relined or rebased to maintain a proper fit. Regular checkups allow us to monitor the fit and condition of your dentures.
Are implant-supported dentures worth it?
For most patients who are candidates, implant-supported dentures are absolutely worth the investment. They provide significantly better stability, comfort, and chewing function than traditional dentures. They also preserve jawbone and prevent the sunken facial appearance that can occur with prolonged tooth and bone loss. Dr. Planes will evaluate your bone health and discuss whether implant-supported dentures are right for you.
